This is just a brief note to let you know I’ve been gearing up for the 500 mile challenge! I did over 600 miles in 2011, but I had drastically cut back on my walking during November due to lack of time during NaNoWriMo, so I was getting pretty slack and needing the motivation to get back to walking for real. I have now started to build up the mileage once again. I was averaging just under a mile but have increased that, and now I have walked 8.5 miles in the last 4 days. I am READY for January 1st to begin!
not my first walk on this quest, but today I walked 1.2 miles uphill (still sitting on that hill, so I’ll be up 2.4 miles soon).
you know, walking 500 miles doesn’t seem so daunting when you can end up in places like this. next time I’m up here (my mum lives at the bottom of the hill), I aim to be less out of breath and far less sweaty.
